CHILDREN's MINISTRY
The childhood years are some of the most critical in a person's spiritual growth. That's why First Baptist seeks to make a kid's experience at our church a meaningful encounter with Jesus Christ and his Good News.
KidZone takes place during both the 9 a.m. contemporary service and the 11 a.m. blended service. We will be sharing God’s Word in a fun, active, and exciting new way through music, videos, stories, and activities for kids in 1st through 5th grade. Registration starts 15 minutes early, and kids are welcome to gather in the tree house upstairs before Sunday School.
For babies, toddlers and preschoolers we offer childcare during both services. Come by our nursery this Sunday to meet our staff and get your kids plugged in.
C.I.A. (Children in Action) takes place Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. This is a program that teaches children about different cultures and teaches them about missions around the world. They also have opportunities to participate in various mission projects as well, such as collecting care kits for the homeless, working at a soup kitchen, etc.
We have an upcoming “Movie and Pizza Night” to be held at the church Upper Fellowship Hall on Sat., Nov 21 4 -6:30 PM The entire family is invited, please RSVP to church office 273-7301.
We offer a “MegaSports Camp” in June where children can choose their favorite sport to participate in. Last summer we offered baseball, basketball, cheerleading and soccer. The kids also enjoyed music, refreshments, and Bible character lessons, as well as small group “huddle” time. This is open to kids who have completed 1st-5th grade. The camp ran Mon – Fri 9:00 am – 12:30 pm. There is a nominal fee to cover cost of the camp T-shirts. Watch our website for registration forms in the spring
1. What is taught during KidZone?
Children learn about God through a Bible curriculum called Worship KidStyle. This curriculum uses games, interactive music videos, dramatic videos that illustrate the Biblical principle being taught, crafts, and exploration to teach God’s Word.
While the parents attend the worship services, the kids are also learning at their own level of understanding.
2. How many teachers are in the classroom?
We have a team of at least two teachers who have been background-checked and fingerprinted for your child’s safety. They have many years of experience teaching children.
3. What about my preschooler? Is there a class for him?
Yes, preschool & nursery care is provided at ALL services on Sunday and on Wednesday night in our Preschool Wing.
4. What other activities are offered for kids at FBC?
We have a special activity about once-a-quarter and offer Mega Sports Camp in the summer.
